I don't see CAR wanting Sam Gagner. Maybe I'm wrong but I don't see where he would fit. Suggesting that CAR could move him later is silly as well. If that is the plan I think EDM would have to facilitate a 3 way trade. Why take the responsibilty of trying to move a player you don't really want?

look at the types of pieces given in deal like this when a team moves up a few spots. it's like an exchange of picks at #50 to #75 or a 3rd rounder etc.
trading sam gagner for 2 spots would be a retarded move and a MASSIVE overpayment.
plus we cant afford to do it. we need to be concentrating solely on making the playoffs next year/

and again for the millionth fuking time, after all the growing pains and development time, we are not now dealing sam gagner for a kid thats never played in the nhl and expecting said 18 year old to step right in!!

Safe to say you can throw all the teams in a hat and have just as much success predicting the standings.

Most people including me had the leafs missing the playoffs...I however predicted they capture that elusive 9th place to secure a crappy draft pick after a crappy season

Yes,the veterans and not the kids are the problem on this team,he is right.He is wrong in the solution of replacing veterans with more kids.We need to replace veterans with better veterans.Gagner is a tweener,a young veteran, and solid 2C, and much better today, and likely next year and the year after that than any18 yo kid, no matter what his draft pedigree is.

I think the kids are a problem and how fans view them. People can't understand why Hall was benched in the wc, well it's the exact same reason we are where we are. Our best players make a lot of really dumb mistakes.

It's not so much that he was wrong on 6 of the 16 playoff teams (which is pretty pathetic), it's the how far off the seeding was. But don't worry, Clouts can go back and find a post that contradicts any and everything he predicts to prove that not only can he change his mind, but if he does it often enough he's bound to be right once in a while.

The way MacT heaped praise on Gags. And with Nuge out for the start of the season. We are going to give away our only top 6 C for nothing.....just to get a Center that likely wouldn't make the team next year.

And the Whining on LA is getting old. Sharks are solid. Getting good tending. They could end up taking the series. Good on them.

we certainly overrate our players. or expected too much of them too soon. (the 'why arent u dominating yet' comments from the trolls makes me laugh)
they just havent been ready to take us to the next level.

but that doesnt neccasarily mean they're the problem. theyre 18,19,21,21 and 22.

we needed and still do, far more insulation for them so that when the nuge is outplayed by datsyuk, or hall doesnt play out of his head, we have some other players that can step up still make it difficult to beat us.

Yeah, sure they do, but adding another kid isn't going to fix that. Barkov or Monohhan isnt going to teach these kids sh*t, or cover Hall's as$ when he makes a mistake.Only a seasoned vet who has seen it all before and knows how to win can help in that situation.

Sam Gagner is the next Doug Gilmour, he is the oilers BEST center, he is not being traded to move up in a draft. If you trade Gagner to get an inexperienced center we are back to being a develpment team for the major leagues.

I really have no problem with it but what can you really expect.

Your first line is all kids, 2nd line is 2/3 kids if not 3/3 with PRV.

Never said they would. For the most part I really see no issue with drafting 7th and said kid not playing on the roster until 15-16.
